The current third-generation Mini Cooper is regarded as a mature hatchback and it surely is, but it retains a frisky, youthful persona that has been inherent to this car for decades. It comes in 2- or 4-door hardtop and convertible body styles, with a variety of powertrain choices including an all-electric SE version. From the entry-level models to the high-performance John Cooper Works creations, all Minis are engaging to drive. The Cooper has always been a highly customizable car that can be upgraded with a variety of factory packages and options. However, 2021 Mini Cooper accessories and parts available in the aftermarket will aid owners in creating a one-of-a-kind car.
The Sidewalk Edition is back for 2021, available for the Mini Cooper S convertible. Apart from visual upgrades, it brings a 6-speed manual transmission as standard equipment, unlike other models that come with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. Otherwise, it is mechanically no different from the Cooper S and uses the same 2.0-liter 189-hp turbo-4. The Sidewalk Edition rides on custom wheels and has a leather interior with some model specific accessories and generous standard equipment that includes heated seats, a head-up display, an 8.8-inch touchscreen for infotainment, Harman Kardon audio, and more.
The Cooper 1499 GT limited edition builds on the content of the standard Hardtop and honors the 1275 GT of old. That original 1969 year model was motivated by a 1275-cc engine; likewise, its modern counterpart is named after the powerplant it comes with. It is the same 1499-cc (1.5-liter) unit that powers the entry-level Mini Cooper. This year's 1499 GT is available in just 150 copies, with only 30 of them having a stick. Appearance-wise, the special-edition version stands out with a black body paint and gold accents that harken back to the original Mini. It also gets JCW treatment in the form of remodeled bumpers and aero bits.
The 2021 Mini John Cooper Works GP sits at the top of the model's performance lineup. Externally, it instantly differentiates itself from the rest of the pack with aerodynamic bits and redesigned body parts. Carbon fiber reinforced plastic wheel arch covers, a giant roof spoiler, and remodeled front and rear bumpers are among the changes that draw attention at once. The visual mods are there to not only optimize aerodynamics, but also improve airflow to the engine and brakes. The JCW GP sports the most powerful engine ever installed in a Mini. It is a 2.0-liter turbo four that makes 302 horsepower. For comparison, the regular JCW's I4 puts out 228 hp. The GP version's engine uses a sport-tuned 8-speed Steptronic transmission. Many other parts and systems have been upgraded to improve performance and include stiffer dampers, reinforced chassis, better brakes, etc.
However, even those who choose the base Cooper won't be dissatisfied by its power, handling, or nimbleness. Its 1.5-liter turbo three-cylinder produces 134 hp and gives the car a surprisingly peppy character, enhanced by tight steering and competent suspension. The Mini Cooper EV is propelled by a 135-kW electric motor making 181 hp; its 32.6 kWh battery provides up to 110 miles of all-electric driving. For any of the models, we have the right 2021 Mini Cooper parts and accessories.
