In any of its multiple forms, the Ford Mustang delivers driving thrills while being a stylish and satisfyingly functional car for daily transportation needs. Now in its sixth generation that uses the S550 platform, the ‘Stang is available as a coupe or convertible and continues offering a wide model lineup in which every enthusiast can find the right machine. This diversity, however, doesn’t mean that there is nothing to customize. While the Mustang is undeniably a spectacular car in its stock configuration, it still leaves plenty of room for custom upgrades. Here you’ll find the appropriate 2022 Ford Mustang accessories and parts for any of your projects.
Ford isn’t bestowing many changes upon its iconic pony car for 2022. New is the Ice White Edition styling package that dresses the GT and EcoBoost coupes in white color, inside and out. Aside from wearing the Oxford White exterior paint, special-edition models are decked out with distinctive accessories and parts, including white wheels, badges, and tail lights with "iced out" elements, while also featuring a black-and-white interior. Of course, blacked-out treatment is on the menu, provided by the Stealth Edition. Available for EcoBoost-powered Premium Mustangs, it adds 19-inch rims, a spoiler out back, clear rear lights, and unobtrusive dark trim on side view mirrors. Another new styling package offered for the Mustang so powered is the Coastal Edition. Aside from dark machined 19-inchers and a spoiler, it brings a black grille, exclusive side stripes, side scoops, and lighted door sills. In 2022, Ford celebrates 55 years of the Mustang GT500 with the Heritage Edition pack. It adds the race livery that reminds of the original 1967 model, with the Brittany Blue body color and white or black stripes, either made out of vinyl or hand-painted. The new Code Orange paint option drawn from Raptor models is new for the 2022 GT500.
There are many more packages available, meant to improve the car’s aesthetics, tech content, or performance. The last group of packs is naturally the most extensive. To name just a few options, the GT Performance pack nets buyers such bits as 19-inch rims with performance rubber wrapped around them, Brembo stoppers, a sportier suspension, and a Torsen limited-slip differential, while the Carbon Fiber Handling Package further boosts the Shelby GT500’s wow factor with 20-inch carbon fiber wheels and aero pieces. However, factory options can’t beat the variety of upgrade choices available in the aftermarket, and particularly in our selection of 2022 Ford Mustang parts and accessories.
The 2022 Mustang model range is powered by a trio of strong, punchy engines. The entry-level 2.3-liter turbo 4-cylinder is no slouch, rated at 310 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque and bolted to a 6-speed manual transmission. A burly V8 has more appeal to purists. Available in two power levels, a 5.0-liter V8 makes 450 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque in the GT and 470 ponies and 410 lb-ft in the Mach 1. This year, the output of this mill is down by 10 horses and 10 lb-ft of twist due to stricter emissions standards. Those who prefer a two-pedal setup can opt for the model offered with a 10-speed automatic. Under the long hood of the Shelby GT500, one will find a 5.2-liter V8 with a supercharger, which churns out 760 hp and 625 lb-ft of torque and is mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission.
